My work lives at the intersection of
three questions:
People may see the authority, independence and success that accompany business ownership. They rarely see the stress, responsibility, uncertainty and isolation that can accompany it.
For more than three decades, I've worked with Founders, Owners, Presidents and CEOs who are expected to make consequential decisions with incomplete information, protect the livelihoods of others, maintain “work-life balance” and keep moving without an obvious place to think out loud.
Great leaders don't already know everything. They possess an insatiable desire to discover what they don't yet know — about their businesses, themselves and what's possible.
Business Owners rarely need one more person telling them what they should do. Instead, a confidential place to think candidly, challenge assumptions and gain clarity around situations to which they may be too close is often more valuable.
I don't prescribe your future or steer you toward a predetermined outcome. I listen for what you're saying, how you're saying it — and what is not being said. I synthesize information, ask the difficult questions few have the objectivity and courage to ask you and help you bring possibilities and answers to the surface.
Whether you choose to grow, step back, sell or remain involved differently, the decision should serve your goals, your family and your definition of freedom.
My experience spans finance, business and estate planning, organizational alignment, strategic facilitation and executive coaching.
I've worked closely with privately held businesses and spent more than three decades coaching senior leaders and facilitating confidential CEO peer groups.
Today, I bring together value building, strategic white space and executive coaching to help business Owners reduce risk, increase transferable value and give them more control over what comes next.
I believe a business should create freedom,
significance and possibility — not consume
the life of the person who built it.
Beyond work, I foster pets for military Veterans through Operation Foster, mentor undergraduate Business School Students at my alma mater and serve as a coach to military Veterans transitioning from military service to civilian life. I'm a heat-seeking beach-lover who's always up for a great hike, sharing good food & wine with friends & family and planning the next adventure.
You don't need to know exactly what you want next before beginning the conversation.
My role is to help you figure all that out and then empower you to get there.
